Total Collections Screen Shots

The purpose of Total Collections is to make the debt collection process more efficient. Because the collections business is complicated, we have tried to make the Total Collections program sophisticated enough to handle almost anything you might encounter in the most common collection situations.

What adding all these features means though, is that Total Collections is a complex software program. In an attempt to counteract this natural complexity, we have invested an immense amount of time and effort to make things simple. That's one of the main reasons that this program was designed to work on a Macintosh.

You should have a clear conceptual understanding of the type of application that Total Collections is. This application keeps it's records of debtors on files like large index cards. On each of these "cards" there will only be three things:

1 - GRAPHICS that do nothing, and are only for visual effect;
2 - FIELDS which are where data is stored (e.g. names, addresses, payments, etc.);
3 - BUTTONS which cause actions to happen (e.g. sorting, finding, mailing, etc.).
Total Collections is essentially an assembly of several groups of these index cards, that work together to do the collections business. As part our attempt to simplify things, we have chosen to give our index cards groups a unique feature: the top card of each of these will be different (in style) from all the rest of the cards. This is sort of like the cover of a book differing from the pages inside.

In each of these groups there are almost 100 buttons (i.e. a lot of choices of things to do!). The benefit of the special top card arrangement is that we can conveniently divide up the many buttons we have, into two logical groups:

1) buttons that apply to multiple Guarantor cards (e.g. mail a letter to ten people, sort all cards, etc.). Buttons of this type will be located on the top card.

2) buttons that apply only to the one Guarantor card we are looking at (e.g. send a letter to this person, phone this person, etc.). Buttons of this type will be found on all the rest of the regular Guarantor cards.

In our attempt to make things more easily understandable, we have tried to give each button an icon (i.e. a picture) that indicates their function, as well as a name that should also give a hint. Additionally, there is "Online Help" that gives a further explanation. Also note that on the Guarantor Cards, several of the field names (e.g. Patient) can be modified to suit any business.
