Time: 7 p.m.

Shortly after checking out her last suspicion of the day, Bibi O'Tec checks out herself, to the big library in the sky. Such is the beginning of the Lake Placid Drama Club's production of "By The Cover." A mysterious chemical was put on her No. 2 pencil - and everyone knew she had the habit of chewing on her pencils.
"By The Cover" is the 11th annual murder mystery comedy to be produced by the drama club and will be staged on Saturday, October 2, 2004, at 7 p.m. The event gives the audience a chance to solve the mystery while enjoying a night of dessert theatre.
Ms. O'Tec made sure everyone that came into her library had strong skills. Unfortunately for her, anyone who used her library would be able to probe the vast resources of on line databases available in the library to find the means to implement her death. Often referred to as Miss. Buntootight by the students, there are a number of suspects.
From the 'Monster Truck Dude' to a librarian wannabe, all the characters had the opportunity and - more importantly - a motive to murder the queen of information literacy.
To solve this mystery, audience members will turn detective. In the first act, audience members glean information about a murder and then they travel around Mirror Lake -- by bus -- interviewing characters at various clue sites. The audience has approximately an hour to gather more 'evidence' and then they write down the character who committed the murder. After the character interview, a delicious dessert will be served. Shortly afterwards the final act is presented, revealing the murderer.
Prizes will be awarded to the correct responses.
Ticket prices for the Dessert Theatre are $7 per adult and student price is $5 each. The fun begins at 7 p.m. in the Lake Placid High School Auditorium. For more information contact Kim Weems, (518) 523-2474 ext. 5242.
