Slayride 2000
Now gone, Viola was once a very important thread in the texture of the village, now the fabric of the town has hit a snag. Those who say Viola was well loved, are speaking numerically not with sympathy. Productive as an artist, but more productive as a lover, Viola has more than her share of jilted lovers with more than enough incentive to avenge lost love. A few may even want to find the paintings they were unknowingly modeling for, before their wives see them. When you throw in an ex-agent and rival artist with axes to grind, then it becomes a case of who wouldn't want the lusty artist gone. Many will remember the twists and turns, as well as the local humor of a small town, involved in last year's Winter Carnival production and "Slay Ride 2000" will spin a similar weave of fun and excitement. The dinner theatre features a buffet dinner of pasta primavera, herb roasted chicken, fresh vegetable melange, rolls, green garden salad, pumpkin pie and coffee, decaf, tea or soda. "Slay Ride 2000" is an audience participation mystery in which the audience watches the first act to glean information and motives. Then they become part of the play in the second act by traveling to clue sites in the hotel to interview the cast of characters. After the interview portion of the play, dinner will be served (approximately 7 p.m.). During dinner, the final act the murder will be revealed. Each production will have a different ending. The characters of "Slay Ride 200" will be played by an all-star cast from Community Theatre Players. The play will be written by Saranac Lake playwright George DeChant and the historic Hotel Saranac will provide a unique backdrop to the production. |
