To buy my work:
If you wish to purchase one of my photos see this
page.
The following is a list of photography sites that I like:

Photographers whose work I admire:
The Adirondacks. My favorite place:
The home page of the Adirondack Mountain Club.
Anyone interested in enjoying and preserving this beautiful area of the
Northeast should consider joining the ADK. Your dues will include a subscription
to ADIRONDACK, the Club magazine, and you will be contributing to
the preservation of the Adirondacks. Even if you don't join it's worth
a visit.
Members are given the option of being a "member-at-large" or joining
a local chapter. My local chapter is the Laurentian
Chapter based in the Canton-Potsdam NY area. We have an active outing schedule
which is posted to the net by one of our members.
Then there are the Adirondack 46r's,
a group of folks who love nothing more than standing on the highest piece
of land they can get to.
I am #3232.
If you want to check out the Northern Adirondack weather Paul Smith's
College weather
page can tell you what it's like today and for the next few days.
Hiking in other places:
I dream of hiking all of the Appalachian Trail someday. The AT is
overseen by the Appalachian Trail Conference
which coordinates the activities of all the regional hiking clubs who do
the actual maintenance. The ATC website is a good source of information
on the AT and they have The Ultimate Trailstore which has the best selection
of AT books I've found in one place.
If you like conversing with other hikers AT-L
is a mail list with several hundred lovers of the AT. It can be quite
active with sometimes over 100 postings/day when debate gets hot and heavy
but it is an open and friendly mail list, a genuine "virtual community".
You can get it in digest form if you want to keep your mail volume down.
The AT-L name tag from the Gathering is here.
AT-L is one of several mail lists available through The National Trails
website. The other trail lists include the Pacific Crest Trail, The
Continental Divide Trail, the Ice Age Trail and the North Country Trail.
The webmaster, Ryan Brooks also provides space for hikers to post journals
and photos at www.friends.backcountry.net.
Photo equipment & products:
-
I use Ilford film and paper almost exclusively. If you are interested in
their products, check out their web site.
-
Old Yeller (Kodak) seems more
interested in snapshooters than artists, but they still make some pretty
good stuff.
-
My favorite supplier of photo equipment/materials is Calumet.
They are the only dealer I know who caters specifically to fine art photographers
and their service is great.
-
B&H in NYC is also a great service dealer. They carry a lot of equipment
that Calumet does not. While I'll continue to use Calumet for the things
they carry, I recommend and use B&H
for the rest.
I'm not a computer whiz. I struggle through with assistance and
advice from my son, Ian, who is a computer whiz, or to be more precise,
a software engineer. Ian's home
page might be of interest if you are into computers or role playing
games.
If any of these links becomes obsolete, please let me know.

see a fine picture every day in order that worldly cares may not obliterate
the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul."
