Photographs can show you a visual picture of history. When you go to the Silas Wright House and visit the Children's Attic, there is an exhibit called "Photo-Play." The first thing you see when you walk into the room is a miniature baseball diamond and many photographs. The exhibit allows you to "play basesball" as you learn about our local baseball history via the photographs.

A tour guide gives you a card with a picture of a baseball on it. When you look inside, it tells you what base or position to go to and also has questions. Once there, you'll find one or more pictures that you can study to answer the questions. The exhibit taught us not only about history but about photography, such as what perspective is and the difference between a candid and posed picture.

The Children's Attic is a great way for young people to learn about photography, and you may even learn a little bit about baseball!
