The Norfolk Town Police Department was established by the town council in June of 1975.  The department has the distinction of being the only town run police department in St. Lawrence County.  The force today is as well equipped and it's officers as well trained as in any other department in the area.  Our officers patrol over 57 miles of highway and answer a variety of complaints.

Those men and women who have served as police officers for the Town of Norfolk are  David Thompson, James Snow, Tom Fitzpatrick, Thomas Matzell, Rick Williams, Robert Boshane, Peter Marks, Richard King, Brian Seeber, John Perretta, Daniel Mousaw, Tammy Mackin, Sam Capone, Wesley Benedict, Jamie Day, James Kelly, Glen Hollinger, Sean O'Brien, Martin Jock, Daniel Lawrence, Richard Gardner, Jordan Jenks and currently John Jones serves as Chief of Police with Belson Herne, Tim Arquitt, Carl Ford, Angela LaShomb, Daniel Lawrence, Shawn Noel, Devin Thomas and James Barr as Patrolmen. Scott Bennett serves as the department's Investigator.

The 21st Century Project Committee, in June of 1999, chose the Norfolk Town Police Department as one of the great people, places and things in the North Country, and Canton Potsdam Hospital awarded the department it's 2001 Community Service Award.

The department can be reached by calling 384-4200 or in an emergency call 911.
