WINTER     SUMMER
CHURCH ACTIVITIES     COMMUNITY SERVICE      FIRE DEPT.

Our area offers a wide variety of recreational and leisure activities.

The town provides a multi purpose arena on Clinton Street, The Dominic W. Zappia Community Center,  where patrons may enjoy recreational skating during the winter months.  The arena is also the home ice of the Flyers High School hockey team and is used by several other adult and youth hockey leagues.  Our figure skating club also uses the facility and hosts an annual ice show toward the end of the season which is generally the biggest draw of the year.  An outdoor skating rink on Rt. 56 is open as weather permits and is free of charge.

In the warmer months the town maintains several ball parks where baseball and softball can be played or watched.  There are picnic areas and playgrounds on Elm Circle, Rt. 56 and at the Rt. 420 hall. Additional picnic area is located midway between Raymondville and Norfolk on River Road and also in downtown Norfolk, across from the museum. Canoe carries and river launches are available next to the Norfolk Town Hall and several off the River Road. Follow the River Launch signs.

The churches of Norfolk have annual dinners and bazaars that are eagerly awaited.  Among them is the Holiday Bazaar and Summer Social (in August, usually on a Sunday) at the Church of the Visitation, the Roast Beef dinner and spring food sale and supper at St. Raymonds, the Ice Cream Social, Harvest Supper, Spring Faire, Holiday Bazaar at First United Methodist Church and the Annual Chicken Barbecue and bazaars at Raymondville Methodist Church.  The Church of the Visitation, Norfolk Wesleyan and Norfolk and Raymondville United Methodist Churches combine choirs to bring the community a carol and candle lighting service each Christmas season (always the 2nd Sunday of December) that is generally standing room only.

The Norfolk American Legion hosts Cabbage roll and spaghetti suppers during the spring, winter and fall and Norfolk Lions, Norfolk Rod and Gun Club and the Friends of the Hepburn Library also offer special programs during the year for your enjoyment.

Finally, the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department holds an annual auction and Chicken barbecue each June and a two day Fair during the Labor Day weekend for over 60 years.

As you can see, there's plenty to do right here in Norfolk.  Watch the papers for specific times and dates and join us.
