NEW LINES - In response to our customers' needs,
NorthNet has established a number of new access lines. If
you are currently encountering busy signals or access problems
in Plattsburgh, Lake Placid, Tupper Lake or Malone, we encourage
you to try one of these new lines:
Plattsburgh - 699-3204
Lake Placid - 418-3204
Tupper Lake - 323-3204
Malone - 651-3204
If you encounter any problems with these news lines, please
let our office know as soon as possible.
We would like to remind our customers that for these numbers
to be a local call, you must be a Bell Atlantic customer and the town
you're calling must normally be a local call for you.
To change the number, double click on "My Computer" then
double click "Dial Up Networking". Right click on "NorthNet" and
choose "Properties." Edit the number at the top of the window and
click "Okay". By following these directions you will make the
change a permanent one.
Since these new numbers are on a different network you may want to change the Domain Name Servers to ones
local to that network. This will provide you with faster domain name lookups.
WINDOWS 95/98 USERS:
To change the Domain Name Servers, click on "My Computer" and
open the "Dial Up Networking" folder. Right click on the "NorthNet"
icon and click on "Properties". Click on the "Server Types" tab and
then on the "TCP/IP" settings bar. Write down the current settings in
case you want to go back to them later.
Change the Primary DNS to: 216.238.0.10
and the Secondary DNS to: 216.238.0.11
Leave everything else as it is. Click "OK" and "OK" again, and
close all open windows.
MACINTOSH USERS:
Click on "Apple," "Control Panel," "TCP/IP". Write down the
current settings in case you want to go back to them later. Make
the changes in the Name server addr: box. Close the window and save
the changes.
Only customers using the -3204 numbers should make these
changes.
RECEIVE 3-MONTHS FREE!! - NorthNet would like to show a sign of
appreciation to its customers, so we at the company have come up with a
contest to give a little back to you. Effective immediately until
further notice, NorthNet will be giving away THREE FREE months of
service each month to one lucky customer.
To be eligible for the free service, you need only be a
residential NorthNet customer. A name will be selected at random by
computer on the last day of each month. (If the last day falls on a
weekend, the name will be drawn on the last Friday of the month.)
Winners will be notified by e-mail that they have won, and their
account will be credited for three months.
The first drawing will be held on Friday, March 31, 2000.
Each month the winner's name will be published in NorthNet News.
RECEIVING YOUR BILL - This is just a reminder to our customers who
are currently receiving their bill by U.S. mail, that you may receive
it through e-mail if you wish.

our Billing Department by e-mailing billing@northnet.org
