The Following courses are taught through the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and relate to the global expansion of capitalism..

 

(Web Version created by Gloria Bobbie here): An exploration of the historical and social origins of the culture of capitalism and the consequences of its global expansion.  The course closely follows the book, Global Problems and the Culture of Capitalism.

Global Problems and the Culture of Capitalism

An exploration of the global social, political, and economic consequences of the Bretton Woods accord that established the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).  

An examination of the history of utopian or so-called intentional communities, treating these communities as manifestations of antisystemic social and religious movements.

An examination of the role that has been and can be played by anthropologists in public policy.
