Don't be afraid, but the Boo Bash & Dash will descend upon the area in October of 1999 (no date yet. The Boo Bash & Dash is a National Off-Road Bicycle Association sanctioned mountain bike race taking place in Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake.

The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is organizing next year's event, set to take place each year in October. There will be a cross country race on Saturday at Dewey Mountain Recreation Center, 1.28 miles from he heart of Saranac Lake. Downhill and dual slalom races will take place on Sunday in Tupper Lake at Big Tupper Ski Area.

The Chamber is proud to announce the main sponsors of the race are: World Cup Ski, Board & Bike, High Peaks Cyclery, Stewart's Shops and Tupper Lake Coca Cola Bottling Company, Inc.

In addition, providing services: World Cup Ski, Board & Bike, Dirt Rag Magazine and McDonnell's Adirondack Challenges will be providing prizes for the race. Team ROAR has allowed the Chamber to use its club number in applying for a National Off-Road Bicycle Association permit.

This is a race that will test competitors and teams against each other, as well the Adirondack elements.
