    Jacques Paradis/Michelle Pelle
    Jacques Paradis was born at Notre Dame, Mortagne, Chartres, Perche,France in 1570. He married Michelle Pelle (b. 1575; Tourouvre,Perche) in 1599 and they had one child, PIERRE. Jacques immigrated to Canada, probably around 1650, and died in 1674 at St-Pierre, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec. There is no record of the place and date of death of Michelle Pelle.

    Pierre Paradis/Barbe Guyon
    Pierre Paradis, the son of Jacques, was born on July 20, 1604 at Notre Dame, Mortagne, Chartres, Perche, France. He married Barbe Guyon (b. April 18, 1617; Tourouvre, Perche) and they had 12 children: Charlotte, Marguerite, Jacques, Marie, Charles, GUILLAUME, Pierre, Jean, Madeleine, Marie-Madeleine, Jean (?), and Marie-Louise. (The first eight were born in France; the last four in Quebec). Pierre died on January 29,1675 and Barbe on November 27, 1700; both in St-Pierre, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec.

    Guillaume Paradis/Genevieve Millouer
    Guillaume Paradis, the third son of Pierre, was born on September 26, 1644 at St-Croix-de-Mortagne, France. He married Genevieve Millouer (b. March 25, 1654; Quebec City, Canada) and they had eleven children: Genevieve (died as a child), Robert, GUILLAUME, Genevieve, Marie-Anne, Jean-Baptiste, Elisabeth, Pierre, Jean-Baptiste, Ignace, and Jacques (All born in Canada). Genevieve died October 8, 1712 and Guillaume on February 13, 1715; both at St-Pierre, Ile d' Orleans, Quebec.

    Guillaume Paradis/Jeanne Hudon
    Guillaume Paradis, the second son of Guillaume, was born on April 4, 1677 at Ste-Famille, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec. He married Jeanne Hudon (b. 1683) and they had ten children: Marie-Josette, Marie, Pierre, Genevieve, Jean-Bernard, Marie-Jeanne, Marie-Anne, Jacques, Marie-Helene, and FRANCOIS. Jeanne died on September 2, 1726 at Kamouraska, Quebec. The date and place of the death of Guillaume is unknown

    Francois Paradis/Marie-Anne Tardif
    Francois Jacques Paradis, the fourth son ofGuillaume, was born in 1711. The exact date of birth is not known; he probably was born in the Kamouraska or Ile d'Orleans area. He married Marie-Anne Tardif (1720; ???) in Kamouraska February 29, 1739/40, and they had three children: Jean-Francois, ANTOINE, and Marie-Josephe. Francois died in 1757; the date of death of Marie-Anne is not known; the place of death of both is not recorded.

    Antoine Paradis/Marie-Marthe Lavoie
    Antoine Paradis, the second son of Francois, was born in 1749, probably in Kamouraska. He married Marie-Marthe Lavoie on February 10, 1777, again probably in Kamouraska. They had two children, Antoine and JEAN-BAPTISTE.

    Jean-Baptiste Paradis/Salomee Vaillancourt
    Jean-Baptiste Paradis, the second son of Antoine, was probably born in Kamouraska, Quebec, although his date and place of birth is not recorded. The same is true of his wife, Salomee Vaillancourt, whom he married on February 22, 1802 in St-Louis, Kamouraska, Quebec. They had five children: HONORE, Jean-Baptiste, Seraphine, Christine and Salomee.

    Honore Paradis/Lucie Morin
    Again, the date and place of birth of Honore Paradis, the first son of Jean-Baptiste, are not recorded, although it is assumed that he was born in Kamouraska. He and Lucie Morin were married in St-Andre, Kamouraska on February 11, 1839; her date and place of birth are also not recorded. They had two children: Virginia and NAPOLEON.

    Napoleon C Paradis/Eugenie Gauthier
    Napoleon C Paradis was born on June 23, 1857, probably in the Kamouraska region of Quebec. He immigrated to the United States sometime before the age of 25 (his daughter Flora was born in New Hampshire in 1882). He married Eugenie (Jeanne) Gauthier, who may have been born in Monroe NH. Again, her date of birth and their marriage date are not available. They had nine children: NAPOLEON A, Flora, Tedius (?), Theodore, Arthur, Robert, Goldie, Jennie and Josee (the names are not in order of birth and may be mis-spelled). He died at Goffstown NH on October 27, 1947 at the age of 90.

    Napoleon A Paradie/Ruby Emery
    Napoleon Alfred Paradie, the son of Napoleon C, was born on June 30, 1888 at Passumpsic, Vermont. He married (1) Nellie Powers and they had four children (Frederick, Roy, Verna, and Vera). After her death, he married (2) Ruby Nancy Emery (b. August 30, 1912 in Groton VT) on March 25, 1935. They had seven children: (Doris, Avis, PHYLLIS, Lois, Robert, Herbert and Richard.) Ruby died in 1970 at Woodsville NH; Napoleon died in 1974 at Chester CT.

The basis was family documents, and a Paradis family genealogy compiled by Chris Kowal, and given to us by Leo and Ruth Decoteaux. We believe the information is essentially correct, but due to missing dates and places of birth and death, it may contain minor (or even major!) errors.
