The St. Lawrence County Branch was formed in 1927. You can take a virtual tour of some branch highlights via our 80th Anniversay PowerPoint slide show. We have 60 members from a diverse educational and employment background who work together to fulfill the mission of the American Association of University Women: to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There are no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.

2009 AAUW-NYS Convention Awards won:

• 1st place 21st Century Cultural Program for the 2009 Leaders and Readers in Women History Month program.
• 1st place 21st Century Voter Education for the 2008 Candidate Forums
• 2nd place 21st Century Community Program for the 2009 Professional Clothing Fair
• 21st Century Public Policy Taking Action Award for educating voters about the issues and candidates prior to Election Day 2008 and since
• Legal Advocacy Fund Awards:
  • 8th Place for Total LAF Contributions
  • 10th place for Per Capita Branch LAF Contributions
  • 5% Increase in LAF Giving over 2007 levels
  • 2nd Place in Contributions to the Evvie Currie Giving Circle
  • Three members were LAF Major Donors
