Newsletter - fall

This is the third letter of the year. I hope all of you had a safe and enjoyable summer.

We had three junior club members show at the Gouverneur Fair. Kevin Rinehart was master showman. He had best large fowl, best female bantam cochin and best female Old English. Jocelyn Seavy had best male Old English. I'm sure you would want to congratulate them on their hard work and a job well done.

The annual summer picnic was a big success as always. Families that came had a lot of fun. I hope next year that more club members could join in the fun.

The swap meet and raffle did extremely well this year. There were 22 people selling birds and whatever. We had many items donated for the raffle. We would like to thank everyone who helped to make this day go so smoothly.

You will find included a new membership list. We had quite a few members that have not renewed their memberships. Check the date next to your name. If you haven't renewed and are over 9 months due you will be dropped from the list. Check all the information to see if it is correct. If there is any changes please get them to me. If I have made a mistake in your due date for membership please call me so I can correct it.

The Christmas party this year will be held Sat Dec 5th at 6:00 p.m. at the Madrid Library. Each family bring a covered dish to pass, the club will furnish the turkey, ham, rolls, drink, and tableware. We would like to see more members come.

A nomination of officers committee has been elected. They are Gary Wells 322-8993 and Ron Beckstead 322-8920. If you would like to be an officer or would like to nominate anyone, give them a call. Election will be at the Dec 5th meeting after the Christmas Dinner.

At the next meeting we will be talking about having another show next year. If you have any opinions on this please come and be heard.

Have a good and safe holiday season. Remember if there is a problem with your membership listing please don't get angry, just contact me at 287-2058 and we will get it worked out.

Best of luck to all
Kathy Rinehart
