PADDLING INSTRUCTION

Treat yourself to Private Instruction!

Discover the joys of whitewater paddling under the skilled guidance of professional whitewater instructor Tom Foster. With his decades of experience teaching paddling technique, you can count on Tom to help you become the paddler you've always wanted to be! Tom and his wife Kelly wrote the 1995 book Catch Every Eddy...Surf Every Wave, a Contemporary Guide to Whitewater Playboating -- a book that's fast becoming the basis of whitewater workshops throughout the U.S. -- Tom is at the forefront of teaching contemporary whitewater paddling.
Tom Foster founded and directed the Outdoor Centre of New England for fifteen years. An ACA Whitewater Instructor Trainer Educator in kayaking and open and decked canoeing, Tom has introduced thousands of newcomers to the "thrills and skills" of whitewater paddling, and now specializes in private instruction and guide service for individuals and small groups.

What's Provided:

A sound philosopy
Tom's programs will introduce you to paddling and playing in harmony with the river's currents, working with the flow of the river to move your boat where you want to go, rather than fighting the powerful river currents. You will be given "homework" to continue developing your skills after the lesson. In addition, Tom can provide expert advice on proper conditioning, equipment, and boat outfitting.
All aspects of whitewater boating
Whether you want to learn to paddle kayak or canoe, tandem or solo, open or decked boat, loaded-boat tripping strategies or advanced playboating techniques, Tom Foster Whitewater is your source for fun, the latest techniques, and skilled instruction in paddling technique.
