SEPTEMBER WINNER - The winner of NorthNet's Three Free Months
Contest for the month of September was Valerie Jacobs of Massena. Upon

The random drawing is held on the last day of each month and all
NorthNet residential customers are eligible.
INTERNET COMMERCE DAY - NorthNet is proud to announce we will be
involved in Internet Commerce Day to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
on October 17 at the Plattsburgh Chamber of Commerce, 7061 Rt. 9
in Plattsburgh.
The Plattsburgh Chamber of Commerce, PSUNY, the Center for Lifelong
Learning, Technical Assistance Center, Small Business Development
Center, and the School of Business & Economics are proud to announce
Internet Commerce Day.
Seminars targeted to meet specific needs will be presented throughout
the day. Whether you are completely new to the Internet, or you are
wondering how to make more out of your existing site, there is a
seminar that will help you find the answers you're looking for. After
each seminar, you'll have the opportunity to speak to Internet experts
about your specific needs.
8:30 am - 10:00 "What is E-Commerce & Why is it Important to You?"
Designed for people who are not yet on-line or who do not yet
have a website.
10:00 - 11:30 "Marketing Your Website"
Designed for people who already have a website, but would like to
learn more about marketing their site.
1:30 pm - 3:00 "Making the Sale"
Designed for people who have a site and would like to learn how
to begin making sales online.
You may attend one, two, or all three of these seminars. The fee is
only $15 for one session, $25 for two sessions, or $35 for all three.

WHO OWNS THAT DOMAIN? - Did you ever wonder who owns a domain
name on the web? For instance is ireland.com actually located in
Ireland? (It is, but ireland.net is owned by a company in Florida.)
You can find out for yourself by going to
http://www.networksolutions.com and clicking on the "WHOIS lookup"
link in the upper right hand corner. Enter a domain name. You will get
the registrant's name, address and contact information. This can be
handy if you need to contact the company and their web site is not
working.

support staff is now available from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
